Thunderbird Times

Newsletter of the Mighty South London Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club

Yes, I know, it has been a while since the last TT. However, …

turnout was very good for the MSL Club Party Saturday, 04/02/2006 and I believe everybody enjoyed themselves. Members, friends, family and even a contingency from Surrey branch enjoyed a drink or two and a dance and I understand there were even some leftovers at the buffet. What is your opinion, is this a ‘do-againer’ for next year?  I would certainly think so. Special thanks to Debbie for preparing such a nice (and plentiful) buffet and to the DJ who kept us all hummin’n’dancin’.

I understand Alexandra Palace wasn’t too exciting this year. Well, at least I didn’t miss much.

Bob’s MSL Quiz Night however was a success! Eight teams took part with ‘The Hopalongs’ coming first, closely followed by the ‘Two Jags’ and ‘Nick and James’. Thanks very much Bob and Frances for organising the event.  I understand everybody enjoyed the evening and it should be a definite ’do-againer’!

Miscellaneous: Please, provide the editor with plenty of input to fill this section in future editions.

Ron’s Triumph engine has now moved to the London Motorcycle Museum. He is not sure if it is on display yet… Maybe we should have a run to the Museum one day and check it out?

The February issue of ‘Wallpaper’ magazine is out… look out for Dave’s Bonny.

I understand that Peter G. and Kelvin S. are organising a trip for modern bikes to the TT days in Belgium this year. Please contact them for details.

Once again: If you have an idea or would like to organise a Club event, or if you would like to lead a Sunday Run, please let the committee know. We will be happy to assist with the organisation (if necessary). I believe everybody agrees that Bob’s Quiz Night or Peter G’s run to Horsham for example were great fun and enjoyed by everybody participating.
